This earth built cottage is a newly restored farmers house with a cottage-looking outside and a modern inside. The house was built with a rammed earth technique that is common in this part of Portugal. At the inside the roof and mezzanine floor are made of wood, giving the cottage a warm atmosphere. The layout is simple but convenient.
It has an open kitchen with a dining table and chairs. The kitchen is completely utilised to self catering. Pots, pans and cooking gear is available. Kitchen towels, washing detergent etcetera are available too. There are a fridge with a small freezer attached, an induction cooker with 4 burners and an electric oven.
There is a cosy living area with chairs and a table and a wood burning stove. And lots of books to read.
There is a sleeping area with a double bed and the possibility to have 2 extra beds. It is very suitable for a family of four. The house has a bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin.
Sheets, pillows, blankets and towels are available as well as toilet paper and shower utilities. The house has cold and hot potable water.
In front of the house there is a sitting area. We provide some outside furniture and a parasol to hang out on the small terrace in front of the house. From there you will have a nice view at the sunset.
The house is located at the top of our terraced Orchard. It has a view over the surrounding forest to the south and the east. To the west side there is a nice view all the way to the sea at the west coast of the Algarve.
The house is just above the main farm house. The parking space for the car is at the top of the land which means you have to walk about 5 minutes down the mountain from there. We will offer you to take your luggage down and up with our four wheel drive.
During the summer months we sell some farm products, please request for the list. We also provide some basic organic products, like rice and pasta.
In the house there is no internet connection and just weak mobile phone reception. But there are a lot of books to read. At the top of our land, where your car is, there is a good G4 reception and mobile phone reception. And in the town Monchique there is free wifi in lot of places.
