5 Wisdoms

To balance ourselves and surroundings we use mainly our intuition but also are inspired by a very old Buddhist philosophy which is called the five Buddha families, or five wisdoms. The idea is that everything (things, art, people, music, emotions, buildings, etc.) in the world consists of energy. The energy in the world can be divided in 5 categories. In a healthy space, with a good feel the wisdom side of these 5 energies shines.
How can you let the energies shine? Simply said, by becoming aware of them. By learning to know your own energies and how these interact with the energies in the world around you. Our meditation lessons provide a basis for learning more about yourself and the 5 wisdoms. And from there on the interaction between your own energy and energies of other persons or things.

The 5 Energies are:

Vajra energy (blue energy):
The color connected to this energy is blue, the element is water. The blue color is the color of a bright blue sky. And it is also a color that “feels” cool. Water can refresh on a hot summer day. Take your overheated feet out of your walking boots and put them into a cool mountain stream and your whole mind clears up. Water can also be a threat, if you fall into a cold water pool in winter you can get under cooled. In Buddhism a clear mirror symbolises Vajra energy. You can find vajra energy in the music of Philip Glass. The emotional side: the energy shows what it sees without prejudice, this is the wisdom side. The confused side manifests by a self importance that can turn into cold or hot anger.

Ratna energy (yellow energy):
The color connected to Ratna energy is yellow. Yellow is the color of gold, gold is a symbol for wealth. Gold is also a reason to become greedy, so greedy that it causes a war. The element connected to Ratna energy is earth. The earth carries us and gives us fruits and food. The earth also motivates war for territory. Emotionally Ratna stands for deep satisfaction and a feeling of having everything that is needed. This is the wisdom side. The confused side of the energy shows greed and being centered around one’s poverty. Envy can be the consequence.

Padma energy (red energy):
The color connected to Padma energy is red. It’s the color of a warm glowing stove. But its also the color of the heavy burning bushfire that spares nothing. The element that is connected is, hardly surprising, fire. Paintings that show the heat of the fire in a war show padma energy. But also very sweet love songs carry the sound of padma. Emotionally padma energy stands for the warm and special bond that you establish from the hart. It also stands for a compassionate wisdom that makes a good tuning towards a situation possible. In the confusion padma is addicted towards pleasure. Jealousy can be the effect.

Karma energy (green energy):
The color that is connected to Karma energy is green. Like the diligent green sprouts growing out of the earth in springtime. Karma is connected to the element wind. The wind that makes the leafs move and rustle in autumn. The wind that pushes you forward on the quay, that pushes you so hard when you are cycling on the dike that you lose control over the bicycle. Karma is a creative all accomplishing energy that can overturn into hurry.
Emotionally karma energy stands for all fulfilling action to the benefit of others. This is the wisdom side. You can see the neurotic side on the highway every day: people sitting behind the wheel, looking into the distance and pushing the car forward not taking care. The neurosis can lead to hunger for power and competition.

Buddha energy (white energy):
The color that is connected to Buddha energy is white. The white of a snow field that absorbs all the sounds and softens the landscape. The element that is connected to Buddha is air. Air in the sense of space. A peaceful space in which all the other energies can bloom. That is the wisdom side of Buddha. The neurotic side is a closed emotion, not able to move, stuck in obstinate denial.
